Distrikt 42 could be easily described in 3 simple words: far from reality. We’ve based our vision on an unusual design with design elements that tell stories similar with Jules Verne’s so that you could be easily transposed in another kind of dimension – a fantastic one.
In 2015 we’ve opened the doors of the first steampunk gastropub in Bucharest. Our objective was to offer our clients a place that would eventually become a destination.
The building dates back in 1870 and it represented the perfect place for us to materialize our vision. The construction has permitted the arrangement of a space composed of two different worlds, separated by a splendid spiral staircase, Victorian style, made of marble and wrought iron.
Elements like brick walls or old wood door frames have been preserved and restored in order to keep a part of the past. Everywhere you look, you will be surprised by interesting elements that draw the attention of everyone who has a passion for photography, for novelty, for new things or simply for unusual places.
“We had a very nice time here and Alis gave us the best recommendations for food and drinks. Loved it!”
“I would recommend this place because of the location in the first place it’s a bit away from all the noise. Great ambience, boehmic atmosphere, nice & friendly people!”
“Great space (inside and terrace) with delicious food, tasty lemonades, incredible cappuccino and lovely staff. It’s always a pleasure to walk in!”
